This Christmas, Marissa received the gift of language from her Online TOEFL Course.

It was December 25, and Marissa looked at her recently received TOEFL scores: (112) R=30, L=29, S=26, W=27. What a glorious gift for Marissa: the gift of language! Her Online TOEFL Course had helped her learn vocabulary, pronunciation, grammar, listening, reading, writing, and speaking. This new gift would help her academically, professionally, and socially.

First of all, mastering the English language and achieving a high TOEFL score would help her enter the graduate program at the University of Texas, Austin. Since she was a little girl, she had always wanted to get an Electrical Engineering degree. Now her high TOEFL score would allow her to get admitted to this program. The only other requirement she needed was to get three letters of reference from former teachers or workers who would be willing to recommend her as a viable candidate for the program.

Second of all, being able to speak and write at a high level of proficiency would make it easier for Marissa once she got hired as an electrical engineer for whatever American company decided to hire her. In her future job, she would be required to talk to committees and other co-workers about technical subjects related to her job. In addition, her superiors would require to complete reports, proposals, reviews, and memos regularly, and she now felt comfortable writing about these types of subjects, for she had acquired the necessary grammar, vocabulary, and writing skills.

Third of all, since Marissa had been living in the United States for several years and had planned to live in the United States after getting her new job, she had made a lot of friends, all of whom spoke English. Having learned fluent conversational English, Marissa would be able to talk to her friends about current American culture topics. For example, many of her English-speaking friends had a various opnions regarding the Affordable Health Care Act, or Obamacare, as it is called by both supporters and opponents alike, and Marissa, due to her keen awareness of this and many other cultural topics, would be able to discuss the merits and demerits of the law.

Yes, it was Dec 25, the season of receiving and giving, and Marissa now had received the gift of language from her Online TOEFL Course called “The 7-Step System to Pass the TOEFL iBT.” Therefore, she would be able to give to others in educational, vocational, and personal settings. The gift of language would be the gift that would keeping on giving for as long as Marrisa was alive.
