Despite not succeeding in previous TOEFL courses, Andrius of Lithuania found success in Michael Buckhoff’s Online TOEFL Course: “The 7-Step System to Pass the TOEFL iBT.” Before joining Michael’s course, Andrius couldn’t seem to pass the TOEFL with his personal goal set at 100. Scoring well in other sections of the TOEFL, Andrius just struggled with his academic writing in English. When writing, Andrius had problems with vocabulary, grammar, sentence structure, and organization; needing to improve these skills to score at least 100 on the TOEFL, Andrius needed to study hard in Michael’s vocabulary, grammar, and writing sections to improve his writing proficiency.  And in a time span of 2 short months, Andrius developed proficient writing skills composed of well-written academic responses.

First of all, in Michael’s vocabulary section, Andrius was provided with 90 hours of instruction by Video, PDF Files, and Web Pages. In addition, this section featured 2,700 skill-building questions, lessons, exercises, grading, and practice tests for mastery of 1,700 TOEFL words. When completing these various exercises, Andrius, for example, would complete the mastery of these words by completing vocabulary quizzes, which also helped him memorize the synonyms, parts of speech, and contextual meanings of these words. Furthermore, with Michael’s vocabulary section, Andrius study words long enough until he was comfortable using them, eventually performing optimally when reading and listening to TOEFL iBT passages because he had developed such academic TOEFL vocabulary.

Second of all, in Michael’s grammar section, Andrius improved his sentence organization and reduced the number of grammatical errors he was making. By having access to college level editing, grammar, and writing, Andrius worked daily on lesson plans to improve his punctuation, editing, and writing. Lesson’s like 1-3 “Writing, Grammar, ESL, and Research Exercises,” Andrius learned about sentence variety, being more concise, and improving his punctuation. Furthermore, by completing grammar exercises, Andrius learned basic and advanced sentence structures, verb tenses, word forms, word choice, parallel structures, and so on. In the end, by bettering these abilities, Andrius was better prepared for the writing section.

Third of all, in Michael’s writing section, Andrius focused on improving his topic development, writing proficiency, and overall organization. By working on hundreds of skill-building exercises and various independent and integrated practice tests, Andrius gained competence in independent and integrated writing skills by decoding the writing task, organizing a coherent response, writing detailed developmental paragraphs, and ending the essay with a conclusion. Moreover, through the exclusive Voxopop Discussion Group, Michael and Andrius periodically worked together to target and improve his academic writing. Andrius soon improved his writing organization, complex sentence formation, and writing proficiency through Michael’s advice and writing lessons. And not too long afterwards, Andrius began scoring 25 in various writing practice tests and developed notable writing needed to pass the TOEFL iBT writing section.

At last, when Andrius took the TOEFL, he checked back by with Michael sending him a high score of 103! His scores were listed as reading 26, listening 24, speaking 27, and writing 26.
