With Michael’s reading section, Sofiane had numerous academic passages that challenged her reading strengths. In addition with many reading lesson’s, Sofiane was taught effective reading habits such as: how to discern main ideas and details, understand vocabulary from context, understand the organization of reading passages including transitions, and having the ability to make inferences. As for Michael’s many academic speed reading practice tests, Sofiane engaged in an extensive reading campaign in which she regularly read for about 40 minutes daily and continued to regularly read each day until she was able to read from a computer screen at a speed of 302 words per minute with 80% comprehension. All in all with Michael’s reading section, Sofiane was able to improve her reading proficiency in English.
With Michael’s speaking section, Sofiane had 100′s of skill-building exercises to improve her speaking abilities and 1000′s of pronunciation drills and practice tests in Michael’s pronunciation section that gave Sofiane an instruction in: vowel and consonants sounds, word stress, intonation, and pausing of certain words and phrases. Furthermore with plenty of speaking lessons, Sofiane was taught competent speaking skills such as: decoding the speaking task, organizing a coherent response including a topic statement, delivering rich details in the body of the speech, and ending with a conclusion. All in all because of this, with Michael’s speaking section, Sofiane eventually developed a higher level of proficiency in her pronunciation and speaking skills in English; such that when she attempted to retake the TOEFL for a better score, she scored 98 with speaking 25 and reading 26!
