TOEFL scores are required for Jezy’s license as a physical therapist.

Jezy needs to take the TOEFL exam because he wants to clear his license to be a physical therapist in the United States. Ever since he was a kid, Jezy has wanted to work with physically disabled people. “The thought of helping a stroke victim regain movement in his arms and legs will make a difference in the world. I can make a difference,” thought Jezy.  But before he can realize his dream job, Jezy needs to improve his academic English, particularly his speaking and writing proficiencies. Fortunately, Jezy has enrolled in an Online TOEFL Course called “The 7-Step System to Pass the TOEFL iBT.”

First of all, Jezy is improving his pronunciation and speaking abilities of American English, which will help him score higher in the speaking section of the TOEFL exam.  Last week, Jezy completed a pronunciation pre-test so that his TOEFL mentor Michael Buckhoff could pinpoint intelligibility issues. In fact, Mr. Buckhoff dsocovered that Jezy had syllable division and grammatical word endings, word stress, sentence rhythm, intonation, and thought groups and blending problems. Therefore, Mr. Buckhoff told Jezy to begin posting his pronunciation practice exercises at “The 7-Step System to Pass the TOEFL iBT” Voxypop Discussion Group.  Then Mr. Buckhoff would give Jezy additional help with reducing his accent.

To improve his speaking proficiencies, Jezy is studying the vocabulary, grammar, and speaking sections of his course. Furthermore, Jezy posts one independent and integrated speaking practice test daily, and his TOEFL speaking mentor Mr. Buckhoff scores his response and gives him audio comments about his delivery, language use, and topic development.  Mr Buckhoff recommends specific lessons to help Jezy improve so he can speak more coherently and with higher intelligibility.

Second of all, to help Jezy improve in his writing proficiency, Jezy has access to 40  and 43 independent and integrated writing practice tests. Moreover, Jezy is reviewing lessons to help him organize and develop his writing so that he can score higher on the writing section of the TOEFL exam. For instance, after Jezy completed his first independent writing practice test, Mr. Buckhoff noticed that Jezy was using mostly basic vocabulary and grammar. Therefore, Mr. Buckhoff recommended that Jezy study vocabulary lesson 3-6 and grammar lesson 1-2, 7, all of which would help Jezy to improve his vocabulary and sentence variety.

Finally, with an effective Online TOEFL Course and a knowledgeable TOEFL instructor with more than 20 years of experience, Jezy is on track to reaching his TOEFL goals very soon so that he can begin his ideal job as a physical therapist.
