Having moved to the US to study abroad, Theo originally needed a minimum TOEFL score of 90 to begin his studies at the university he choose. Having previously scored 85 on the TOEFL iBT with R22, L24, S21, and W18, Theo was only five points shy from being able to study abroad in the US. Presuming to have conducted a search on the web, it is known that Theo discovered and joined Michael Buckhoff’s renowned Online TOEFL Course “The 7-Step System to Pass the TOEFL iBT.” Having examined his writing, Theo was not able to neither write with proper word choice nor sentence organization. Taking this into account, Theo was recommended to review Michael’s vocabulary and writing section to improve his writing and TOEFL score. Respectively, Theo came to develop well rounded writing comprehension skills in just 2.5 months.
With Michael’s vocabulary section, Theo was provided with lessons, exercises, and practice tests for mastery of 1,700 TOEFL words. Aiming to study words long enough until he was comfortable using them, Theo learned to perform optimally when reading and listening to TOEFL iBT passages because he developed a good vocabulary foundation. Furthermore, Theo learned to be able to support his generalizations and ideas in the speaking and writing sections by doing things such as: repeating words and their definitions, downloading audio files and practicing their meanings, and completing vocabulary quizzes so he would be able to remember the synonyms, parts of speech, and contextual meanings of all 1,700 TOEFL words.
Theo also furthered his academic writing by completing various independent, integrated, and skill-building exercises. This not only allowed for Theo to test the skills he learned in the grammar section, but helped improve his topic development and sentence organization. Reason being, by completing numerous independent and integrated practice tests and receiving feedback provided by iBT writing specialists, Theo was constantly given and told of helpful way to improve his writing. As a result, Theo was able decode the writing tasks given to him, organize a coherent response, and write detailed developed paragraphs.
In the end, when Theo’s subscription had ended and he decided to take the TOEFL, Theo scored 92 with R-24, L-26, S-27, and W-26. With Michael’s comprehensive course, Theo studied hard and effectively to eliminate his writing incompetence. By improving his vocabulary and writing abilities in English, Theo correspondingly came to develop satisfactory writing comprehension and proficiency.
