When I designed my online TOEFL course called “The 7-Step System to Pass the TOEFL iBT,” I created the Speak Clearly section of my course so that my students could get practice in the following areas: vowels, consonants, syllable division, grammatical word endings, word stress, sentence rhythm, intonation, thought groups, and blending. In all, I designed more than 48 pronunciation video lessons, around which I framed two pronunciation pre-tests.
The purpose of the pre-tests are to helps my student pinpoint their pronunciation problem areas so that they know where to focus more of their time and efforts. In the following video, one of my students completes her second pre-test after which I diagnose her specific pronunciation problems.
