Online TOEFL Course

Kana was so excited that she had finished her pharmaceutical studies that she almost forgot about the ONE hurdle that she had to climb before she would be able to begin working at her dream job: the TOEFL iBT. But just to make sure she would reach her target scores, Kana enrolled in an Online TOEFL Course called “The 7-Step System to Pass the TOEFL iBT.” Since her reading and listening proficiency was already strong, Kana needed to focus on the speaking and writing sections, which required scores of 26 and 24 respectively.

Scoring 26/30 on the speaking section was a tall order indeed, for Kana’s first language was Romanian. Of course, the vocabulary, pronunciation, and grammar were vastly different between the two languages. Therefore, Kana was delighted to see that her new Online TOEFL Course has a vocabulary section designed to help her master 1,700 high-frequency college-level words. In addition, to improve her pronunciation, Kana completed the first of two pre-tests, after which founder, owner, and materials writer for “The 7-Step System to Pass the TOEFL iBT” would diagnose problems relating to the following: vowels, consonants, syllable division, grammatical word endings, word stress, sentence rhythm, intonation, thought groups, and blending. In total, there are more than 48 different videos, all designed to help her improve her pronunciation. And, Kana can record her pronunciation practice exercises either for self-monitoring or for having her TOEFL mentor listen to and evaluate. Finally, to help her solve the grammar problems that she is having, Kana’s new Online TOEFL Course has hundreds and hundreds of lessons and self-study quizzes so that she can improve her knowledge of sentence structure, verb tenses, punctuation, mechanics, word choice, and all the other important areas to help her speak and write with a high degree of accuracy.

Like the speaking section, scoring 24/30 on the writing section was equally challenging, but Kana is able to go through a series of skill-building independent and integrated writing lessons, thereby helping her to learn how to organize her writing for the TOEFL. For example, in one of her lessons, Kana can learn how to make her writing more coherent through four specific cohesive devices: using transition words, repeating and rephrasing key terms, using determiners and pronouns to link old information to new, and using parallel structures. After Kana learned those four cohesive devices, she was able to organize her speaking and writing tasks better, which would be good news for her when she took her upcoming TOEFL exam in a little more than one month. Furthermore, in addition to having effective lessons to help her improve her writing, Kana also has the option to complete 40 independent and 43 integrated writing practice tests, each time getting feedback from Michael for from one of his trained iBT writing specialists. It would not be long before Kana would be fully prepared to confront the writing section of the exam.

To sum up, Kana was in good hands in her new Online TOEFL Course as she worked diligently to solve her speaking and writing challenges.
