Online TOEFL Course

Azim is originally from Ukraine. His goal was to achieve at least 90 points on the TOEFL because Azim would like to apply for a Masters Degree, which is taught in English, but the university asked for at least 90 points. He took the TOEFL recently and scored 84 (Reading: 21, Listening: 21, Speaking: 20, Writing: 22). Struggling in his pronunciation and speaking, Azim searched for an Online TOEFL Course that he felt will work best for him and his needs; soon enough he came across Michael Buckhoff’s “The 7-Step System to Pass the TOEFL iBT.” Two months later, Azim improved both his pronunciation and speaking.

For starters, Azim had trouble pronouncing his vowel and consonant sounds, such as the “e” in meet or heat, or the “a” in gate or late. In addition, he had trouble pronouncing words with appropriate stress and blending. However, through Michael’s pronunciation section, Azim watched 48 video lessons, worked on Speak Clearly lessons, and did thousands of pronunciation drills enabling him to have extensive practice with vowel and consonant sounds and instruction in the stress, intonation, and pausing of words and sentences. Soon Azim improved both his vowel and consonant sounds as well as his clarity in blending and word stress; furthermore, Azim had the exercises to improve his proficiency with syllable division, grammatical word endings, sentence rhythm, intonation, and thought groups in Michael’s “7-Step System.”

With Michael’s speaking section, Azim tested and further improved his ability to pronounce words in English correctly and clearly by working on many integrated and independent practice tests which tested Azim’s overall English proficiency. Moreover, through Michael’s Voxopop Discussion Group, iBT speaking specialists gave Azim feedback on his ability to decode the speaking task, organize a coherent response including a topic statement, deliver rich details in the body of the speech, and end with a conclusion. All in all, Azim learned competent speaking skills in Michael’s pronunciation and speaking sections and commented how he felt he bettered his English fluidity, especially when he said that he needed to translate for a couple of his peers in school.

All in all, in two months time, with Michael’s “The 7-Step System to Pass the TOEFL iBT,” Azim improved both his pronunciation and speaking in English and felt better prepared in his chances of passing the TOEFL with at least a 90. Following back with Michael, Azim listed his new and improved scores on the TOEFL iBT, totaling to a 92! They were listed as (Reading: 24, Listening: 22, Speaking: 24, Writing: 22).
